Phuket Road 4029 Mountain Driving Experience Tour

One of the most dangerous roads to drive on in Phuket is the 4029 road that connects Patong Beach to 4020 Wichthsongkan road leading to the Kathu district of Phuket. Here is a video we took while driving west on this road on our way to Patong Beach.

As you can see in the video 4029 is a very steep and widening road and there have been many accidents on this road, so when you are driving this route, just be cautious and alert. Motorbikes are probably the most dangerous driving this route and if you are always wear a good helmet (Full Face Helmet), I would not recommend wearing the typical "Tupperware" helmet you see others wearing, I don't belive they provide any protection, except a satisfying the police so you don't get fined 500 Baht for not wearing a helmet.
