PIMEX 2010 : The Phuket Boat Show is Now Open: Day 1 Update

PIMEX 2010 opened yesterday and is off to a great start as over 640 visitors came through the door on day one.

240 exhibitors from Thailand and overseas joined the brief opening ceremony in the hall presided over by the Vice Governor of Phuket Province, Smith Palawatwichai.

Despite the unseasonably wet weather the exhibition welcomed a good number of visitors in the first few hours and by mid afternoon, when the weather cleared, the visitors were able to get onto the docks to view the glittering array of luxury yachts assembled. As evening approached the in water display was a fairy tale scene with the yachts lit up in front of the boardwalk, lending festive atmosphere to the four restaurants dotted along the boardwalk.

Come and enjoy the show, have a cool drink overlooking the marina, or plan an evening meal on the boardwalk. Bring the family. Sound Phuket are providing live DJ music in the hall.
